The Wildscreen Festival is the world’s leading international festival celebrating and advancing storytelling about the natural world. Held every two years, the Wildscreen Festival brings together the wildlife film, tv and photography community to transform the craft of natural world storytelling across platforms and across audiences. Through an unrivalled programme of events including workshops, masterclasses, screenings and sessions, it shares the inside track on emerging trends and is the most powerful platform for emerging talent to break into the industry.  It is also the home of the illustrious Wildscreen Panda Awards or ‘Green Oscars’ honouring the most remarkable achievement in the craft of natural world filmmaking and storytelling.

The Wildscreen Festival 2016 will take place 10-14 October 2016 in Bristol, UK. Further information is available at www.wildscreen.org and delegate tickets are on sale now from Eventbrite.

Please note that the programme is being updated daily as guest availability changes. Wildscreen reserves the right to make such updates to the programme and timings, and will endeavour to make those changes as quickly as possible.

The majority of events have a limited numbers of seats. Entrance is permitted on a first-come-first-served basis at the venue door. For particularly high-profile events, you may be asked to RSVP to secure your seat beforehand. Details will be sent to you in advance.

The programme include both industry events, which are included in the price of your day or week delegate pass, and public events that anyone is welcome to attend.

Wild About VR
Wild About VR features cutting-edge demos of some of the most exciting projects being developed by natural history and science content producers for virtual reality technology.

Aardman Animations are the four times Oscar winning studio behind family favourites such as Wallace and Gromit, and Shaun the Sheep. They find themselves overly excited by new and interesting forms ofstorytelling. VR & 360 video are no exception. To date Aardman have created the 360 story Special Delivery for Google Spotlight, and We Wait, an animated VR doc for the BBC, which you’ll be able to experience for yourselves here at Wildscreen.

Born out of collaboration between Atlantic Productions and Zoo VFX (Atlantic’s CGI studio), Alchemy’s vision is to create the most compelling VR storytelling experiences in the world. They’re producing pioneering virtual reality experiences, including the award-winning museum experiences First Life and Great Barrier Reef Dive. Come and check out some of their latest VR experiences.

Deep VR is Africa's most experienced cinematic virtual reality production company. Its wildlife documentary division, Deep VR Wild, tells stories using VR to teleport nature lovers to real environments and situations. They’ll debut Exodus: The Great Migration: a virtual reality documentary about the East African mammal migration in a way never told nor filmed before. Be physically part of a herd making up part of the two million wildebeest that embark on a long and treacherous journey.

REWIND has collaborated with the BBC Science, BBC Learning and BBC Digital Storytelling to create an epic 15 minute immersive virtual reality experience: Home – AVR Spacewalk. Its immersive nature means that users will really get to feel what it’s like to be an astronaut floating 250 miles above earth with stunning and vast views of the spaceship, the space station and the universe.
