Jungle TV
Producer / Presenter
Dr. Mark Evans is a vet and science explorer.

Mark trained at the Royal Veterinary College and has worked in general practice - mostly with cats, dogs and horses. He is also a former Chief Veterinary Adviser to the RSPCA.

Mark ended up working in the media by accident! Over many years he has presented and helped produced factual programmes and events for a range of broadcasters including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Five, Discovery, National Geographic and PBS. He works on live events and recorded formats.

Mark has been to Everest to test ‘Yeti’ DNA and, closer to home, successfully sequenced Darwin’s genome. Dissecting a polar bear on the Arctic sea ice was thought provoking (on lots of levels!) as was removing the heart of an adult sperm whale on a Kent beach. He has electro-ejaculated wild bull elephants and is, quite possibly, the first person to have climbed into an orangutan nest… 200 feet off the ground.

For the last five years, Mark has worked as a producer-presenter with major independent production companies including Windfall, Arrow, Tigress, Oxford Scientific, Plimsoll, Icon and Double Act.

Credits include the BAFTA-winning ‘Inside Nature’s Giants’, ‘How To Win The Grand National’, ‘Dead Famous DNA’, ‘The Big Foot Files’, ‘Sex In The Wild’, ‘Operation Maneater’ and ‘Dogs: Their Secret Lives’. Mark also hosted Channel 4’s innovative, multi-platform, live events, ‘Hippo: Nature’s Wild Feast’ (winner of a prestigious Wildscreen Innovation Award), and ‘Foxes Live’ (generated the second biggest web traffic in Channel 4’s history).
