The Wildscreen Festival is the world’s leading international festival celebrating and advancing storytelling about the natural world. Held every two years, the Wildscreen Festival brings together the wildlife film, tv and photography community to transform the craft of natural world storytelling across platforms and across audiences. Through an unrivalled programme of events including workshops, masterclasses, screenings and sessions, it shares the inside track on emerging trends and is the most powerful platform for emerging talent to break into the industry.  It is also the home of the illustrious Wildscreen Panda Awards or ‘Green Oscars’ honouring the most remarkable achievement in the craft of natural world filmmaking and storytelling.

The majority of events have a limited numbers of seats. Entrance is permitted on a first-come-first-served basis at the venue door. For particularly high-profile events, you may be asked to RSVP to secure your seat beforehand. Details will be sent to you in advance.

The programme include both industry events, which are included in the price of your day or week delegate pass, and public events that anyone is welcome to attend.

William Goodchild Music
Composer
William Goodchild is a professional composer and conductor. He composes music for film, television, concert performance and commercial installation. Specialising in wildlife and history documentary, he has scored well over 70 films including many that have won international awards. In 2016, for his score for BBC Natural World, Return of the Giant Killers – Africa’s Lion Kings, he was nominated for Best Composer at the Royal Television Society West of England Awards; at Wildscreen Festival, he has been nominated for Best Music Panda Award, for Jago – a Life Underwater.

On stage and in the recording studio, William has collaborated with a wide variety of international soloists including guitarist John Williams, singer Tom Jones, and saxophonist Andy Sheppard. His passion for working across styles led to a live and recorded collaboration with Mercury Prize-Winner, Roni Size & Reprazent, and their album, Live at Colston Hall, was released in November 2015. Also at the Colston Hall, with Sir David Attenborough presenting, William conducted the BBC’s Nature’s Great Events Live to a sell-out audience. The BBC’s Wild China series, conducted by William, won an Emmy. Series Producer Phil Chapman said: ‘I am full of admiration for William’s talent, his professionalism – he’s a total joy to work with.’

Many recordings conducted by William are available to buy on Sony Classical, Universal Classical and Jazz, and CBS Records. He has worked regularly with a number of professional orchestras including the BBC Concert Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Bristol Ensemble. William is Artistic Director and Conductor of Bristol Symphony Orchestra. 

William lives in north Bristol with his wife Rachel and their two daughters.
